The LCTL Project sponsors eight listservs for teachers of less commonly
taught languages. To find out more about the listservs, including how to
subscribe, click on the link above.
A list of general language teachers' organizations and sponsored organizations
for specific LCTLs, compiled by the LCTL Project.
A list of native speakers and others proficient in specific LCTLs who have
volunteered to answer questions about their language(s) of expertise by
e-mail. New volunteer experts are also welcome.
Survey of LCTL teachers
In Fall, 1999, the LCTL project began a survey of LCTL teachers
about their backgrounds, teaching situations, and needs for becoming
more effective teachers. Summaries of this survey are available

In September 1996, the project hosted a LCTL summit meeting at the University
of Minnesota. Teachers and administrators from around the US came to participate
in discussions of issues common to LCTL teachers and students, and to propose
solutions to common problems. More information about the summit is available
