American Council on Immersion Education

The American Council on Immersion Education (ACIE) is an organizational network for individuals interested in immersion education (teachers, administrators, teacher educators, researchers, parents). Conceived by immersion teachers in Minnesota and funded in part by the Language Resource Center in the Center for Advanced Research on Language Acquisition (CARLA) at the University of Minnesota, ACIE aims to facilitate communication among immersion teachers and others interested in immersion education.

ACIE Newsletter
ACIE publishes a newsletter containing articles with an emphasis on research-based ideas and best practices, as well as school profiles, research reports and a calendar of upcoming events of interest to individuals involved in immersion education. It is the only publication in the United States to address issues specifically related to immersion education. The ACIE Newsletter is published three times during the academic year (November, February, and May) and is sent to all ACIE members. You can see many examples of newsletter articles in the ACIE Archives.
