The Nebraska
Language Frameworks are aligned with the National Standards. In
addition to the frameworks that include examples of classroom activities,
the Foreign Language Frameworks Addendum includes sections on assessment,
curriculum planning, strategies for diverse learners and teacher preparation.
Assessment options (teacher-made tests, portfolio, project, checklist,
observation, performance, exhibition, demonstration, log/journal, and
writing) are identified for each learning expectation in the Arkansas
Language Curriculum Frameworks. Learning scenarios also include
assessment suggestions. This document is in PDF format.

Performance Descriptors and Classroom Assessments where sample
assessments aligned to the Illinois Standards can be downloaded.
Samples of student work at various levels are also provided. Note:
the Illinois Foreign Language Standards vary from the National
Standards.
The New
Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards for World Languages,
developed by a cross-section of world language educators, build upon the
National Standards for Language Learning in the 21st Century and incorporate
current research. The New Jersey Standards were revised in 2003. The site
also features a curriculum framework and an assessment section.
The North Carolina
Public Schools site includes Oral
Language Assessment in the Foreign Language Class (Planning, Conducting,
and Managing), a guide to developing, administering, and
evaluating oral assessments.
The Wisconsin
Department of Public Instruction website offers the Wisconsin
Model Academic Standards for Foreign Languages. This document
is (available in PDF format or for purchase) includes performance
standards, performance guidelines, sample tasks, and samples of
student work at four levels: beginning, developing, transitioning,
and refining. Wisconsin's language standards are aligned with
the National Standards. Planning
